昨夜は三津の花火大会でした。私の自宅からでも花火の音が聞こえ、特に21時頃にはかなりの連発音があり、夏の夜の恒例イベントとして懐かしく聴きました。
7月以来、松山でも猛暑続きですが、今日はイラクの酷暑について、昨日のBBCより私の訳でご紹介します。

(写真はどちらもベランダ菜園の成果物なのですが、上のように、シシトウとピーマンが赤いなってきました。収穫の初期には緑だったのですが…。食べてみると、唐辛子のように辛い！のです。何故こんな変化が？？これも暑さのせいでしょうか？枝豆は順調ですが、硬めです。2022年8月4日撮影)
